Insurgent 2015 Storyline :
Five days after the assault on the Abnegation faction by Erudite leader Jeanine and her mind-controlled Dauntless soldiers, Jeanine declares martial law, targeting Divergents as enemies. Among the Abnegation ruins, Dauntless leaders Max and Eric find a box with faction symbols, believed to contain a solution to the Divergence issue. Jeanine orders the capture of all Divergents to open the box.
Tris, her boyfriend Four, her brother Caleb, and troublemaker Peter hide in the Amity compound led by Johanna. Eric and his crew test everyone for Divergence. Peter betrays the group, forcing them to flee into Factionless territory. Four reveals his true identity as Tobias Eaton, son of the Factionless leader Evelyn, but resents her for abandoning him. Evelyn suggests an alliance against Erudite, but Four refuses.
The next morning, Tris, Four, and Caleb head to Candor to join the remaining Dauntless. Caleb splits from the group. Tris and Four are arrested by Candor leader Jack Kang but are absolved after a truth serum trial reveals the truth. Tris admits to killing Christina's lover, Will, causing tension.
Jeanine's Dauntless allies attack Candor, shooting members with mind-control disks. Max and Eric capture Tris, revealing her perfect Divergent reading. Four saves Tris and executes Eric. Jeanine, frustrated with failed simulations, uses Peter's suggestion to exploit Tris's Abnegation upbringing.
Back at the Factionless base, Four reluctantly agrees with Evelyn that war is inevitable. Jeanine activates the mind-control disks, causing Christina and others to attempt suicide unless Tris surrenders. Tris saves Christina but feels guilty and decides to turn herself in.
At Erudite headquarters, Tris threatens suicide but stops upon seeing Caleb's allegiance to Erudite. She agrees to undergo simulations to stop the suicides. Tris overcomes four simulations but fails the Amity trial. Peter fakes her death and helps her escape.
Determined to reveal the box's message, Tris returns to the simulation room with Peter's help and successfully opens the box. A hologram explains the city and faction system are part of an experiment, with Divergents as the goal, and the outside world awaits them.
Jeanine orders the box buried and Tris and Four executed, but the Factionless rescue them. Jeanine and Caleb are arrested, and the message is broadcast citywide. Tris becomes a hero, eager to explore the outside world. In her cell, Jeanine wonders about the world beyond the wall before Evelyn kills her.
