Godzilla vs. Kong The New Empire is a 2024 American monster film directed by Adam Wingard. It is the sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), the film is the fifth film in the Monster Universe franchise. The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kyle Hottle, Alex Ferns and Fala Chen. Hall, Henry, and Hottle reprise their roles from the previous film Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). In the film, Kong encounters Scar King, an ape of many of his own species, in Hollow Earth, and Kong must reunite with Godzilla to destroy the tyrannical Scar King and the powerful, cold-breathing Titan.
Has established its own new area in Earth and is exploring more areas of its kind. On Earth's surface, Godzilla continues to maintain order between humanity and giant monsters called "Titans" – killing Scylla in Rome and then resting in the Colosseum. On the surface, the signal causes Jiya, the last known survivor of Skull Island's Iwi tribe, to experience hallucinations and flashbacks, worrying her adoptive mother, Dr. Ilene Andrews. Sensing the signal, Godzilla leaves Rome and attacks a nuclear plant in France to absorb the radiation. Godzilla then heads to Tiamat's lair in the Arctic. Monarch believes that Godzilla is bracing himself for the coming threat.
When a sinkhole opens up near his home, Kong discovers an unknown area and a tribe of his species, including one named Suko. Also includes teenage monkeys. After an initial confrontation, Kong forces Suko to take him to the tribe's lair, and the two slowly proceed on their journey. The tribe's tyrannical leader, the Scar King, battles Kong with the aid of Shimo, an ancient ice-powered Titan, whom the Scar King painfully controls using a crystal. Kong's right hand is frozen by Shimo's icy breath, but with Sueko's help, Kong manages to escape, though he loses his ax in the process.Andrews and Xia, Titan vet trapper and conspiracy podcaster Bernie Hayes Together, they travel to Hollow Earth to locate the source of the signal. They find that the Monarch outpost has been destroyed.
As the group progresses, they find a temple that takes them to an unknown underground section inhabited by the surviving Ivi tribe, who communicate with each other telepathically. While inspecting some ruins, he surmises that the signal was a telepathic distress call sent by Ivy. Seeing Zia mingling with Ivy, Andrews tells Trapper about his fear that Zia might choose to live with her people. And Andrews has to accept that. Inside a temple, Andrews uncovers hieroglyphs representing the past and the future: the Scar King once attempted to conquer the surface world and wage war against Godzilla's species, but Godzilla defeated and destroyed him. Hoping to lure Godzilla to the Hollow Earth to aid him, Kong arrives in Cairo and calls out to Godzilla. Despite Kong's attempts to communicate, an enraged Godzilla attacks him, and a brief battle ensues until Mothra arrives with Jiya and convinces Godzilla to help Kong. .
